How to record audio on win 7 & Vista with audio recorder? 
Recording and audio file is extremely simple. First off you will nesed:
1. A microphone or input device.
2. A computer with a sound card.
3. Audio Recording software like SnowFox Screen Recorder is an excellent audio recording and video recording software.

Part one: How to record audio from PC Windows Vista & Windows 7
Run SnowFox Screen Recorder on Windows Vista or Windows 7, Click ‘Audio’ to set audio settings.
Click ‘Volume Control’ to start the "Sound" settings and this "Sound" window will pop-up automatally. Then right-click to select these two options at the same time: ‘Show Disabled Devices’ and ‘Show Disconnected Devices’.
If Stereo Mix is not available, you should enable it. Just right-click ‘Stereo Mix’ to select ‘Enable’ option. (Notice: If ‘Enable’ option is not available, you need to install the Audio Driver)
Press ‘Set Default’ to specify ‘Stereo Mix’ as default device. Now, you can record audio from PC Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Part two: How to record audio from Microphone on Windows Vista & Windows 7.
Step 1: Do steps 1-2 of part one.
Step 2: Just select ‘Microphone’ as default device to record audio from Microphone.
On Windows Vista or Windows 7, you could record any audio as you want with this excellet audio recorder.
